AROUND TOWN: Feast of San Gennaro

Long known as one of New York's most beloved immigrant heritage events—and featured in all three Godfather flicks—the Feast of San Gennaro is a massive 11-day festival that regularly draws more than a million fans and participants from around the world. One of summer's final gatherings, the feast, in its 84th year in Little Italy, honors the patron saint of Naples with traditional processions, live music and a wide array of the best Italian food this side of the Atlantic.

COMEDY: Eugene Mirman Comedy Festival

As with previous editions, this fest's tongue-in-cheek showcases (e.g., An Evening of Comedy from 1986) and rare guest appearances (e.g., the return of Brit Daniel Kitson) will rock the Casbah with side-splitting comedy shows.
July 16–19
Tickets: $10–$15

MUSIC: Billie Joe Armstrong and Michael Mayer

Green Day's frontman and the director of American Idiot, based on the band's best-selling 2004 album, sit down for a talk with Jordan Roth, president of Jujamcyn Theaters (which stages the musical).

EAT OUT: GOTTINO

This sliver of a wine bar—often frantic at night—becomes an idyllic sun-dappled refuge at brunch, when it's still largely uninhabited. The house-baked goodies (ricotta fritters, mini chocolate cornetti) are as good as they look. Entrées like waffles with fresh berries and cream ($7) and eggs scrambled with wispy prosciutto ($8) are dead simple and delicious. 52 Greenwich Avenue, between Charles and Perry.
